Go For Launch !!!

 Hi Folks !!!

Finally ... after years ( yes years !! ) of dilly-dallying, I have decided to take the plunge - and enter the Blogosphere !!!

This is Avinash ( a.k.a TopGun) and here s presenting my blog - Sidewinder.
The purpose of this blog is to not just rant at random or vent my feelings but to convey my perspective on various issues and to try and engage in discussion with other bloggers out there. I believe that one of the main banes of society today is indifference - an indifference towards other people's issues,  an indifference towards ideas pertaining to anything other than our own problems and especially ... an indifference towards communication.  By starting my blog and by trying to reach out to people ( or atleast people's minds ) through this blog, I hope to break this cycle of indifference.

As for the name of my blog - Sidewinder - How did I come up with this name ? Well ... I wanted to give my blog a name that would stand for pretty much what this blog is all about as well as represent the person behind it.  According to dictionaries I checked out online, a Sidewinder is a "Punch delivered from the side" in boxing. And also, the AIM-9 Sidewinder also happens to be the most produced air-to-air missile in the world.
Considering that I am an Aerospace Engineer, who is just presenting his views on various issues "on the side/ from the sidelines" and yet hopes to make an impact by locking on to a target, I found the title "Sidewinder" to be very appropriate.

My target is all you people out there - your intellect, your subconscious, your hearts, your minds, your conscience, your thoughts; that is what I am locking on to. Through this blog, if I can get healthy discussions started, if I can get enough people to think, if I can get enough people to introspect and more importantly, if I can augment my own views ( which are by no means infalliable) of the people and world around me, my Sidewinder would have hit bull's eye.

So here goes ... may the force be with the human mind !!!
